The exhibition “4 Directions 4 Printmakers” will open Sept. 26 at Gallery FAB on the North Campus of the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The exhibition title reflects the variety of “directions” or approaches artists can pursue through the art of printmaking.
The exhibition will highlight the art of the following artists:
* Robert Kennon, associate professor of art at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.
* Kent Kappinger, director of the Printmaking Education And Research Studio at North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D.
* Catherine Chauvin, assistant professor of art at Denver University
* Ralph Slatton, professor of printmaking at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6. Robert Kennon will be in attendance at the opening reception and will present a lecture on his work in the Fine Arts Building at 4 p.m. on Oct. 6.
Jeffrey Sippel, professor of art and art history at UMSL, is serving as curator for the exhibit, which will run through Oct. 20.
Gallery FAB is at 201 Fine Arts Building at Rosedale Drive and Florissant Road in St. Louis County (63121). All exhibits at the gallery are free and open to the public. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
