Alla Voskoboynikova, director of piano studies at UMSL, will lead the "Love & Loss" concert with members of the St. Louis Symphony on Nov. 30 at the Touhill.

The Department of Music at the University of Missouri–St. Louis will present “Love & Loss: The Story of Human Suffering and Victory Across Time” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center on the university’s North Campus, 1 University Blvd. in north St. Louis County (63121).

“Love & Loss” is free and open to the public and will feature the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Dmitri Shostakovich. The concert will be performed by Alla Voskoboynikova on piano, David Halen on violin, Melissa Brooks on cello and Miran Halen on vocals.

Alla Voskoboynikova is director of piano studies at UMSL. David Halen is first violin and concertmaster with the St. Louis Symphony. Melissa Brooks is a cellist and associate principal with the symphony, and Miran Halen is an acclaimed  soprano.
