Senior midfielder Almin Sabotic of the UMSL men's soccer team was named to the All-Midwest Region First Team.

Senior midfielder Almin Sabotic of the University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s soccer team has been selected to the 2011 Daktronics All-Midwest Region First Team, as selected by the region’s sports information directors.

Sabotic, an All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team honoree earlier this season, recorded seven goals and five assists for the UMSL Tritons this season, and paced the squad with 19 points.

His efforts on the field helped UMSL to an 8-5-4 overall mark, including a 7-5-3 league mark.

The Daktronics all-region teams are nominated and voted on by sports information directors from schools in the respective regions. The honor focuses on awarding outstanding performances by student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level.

All first-team all-region selections will be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be announced Wednesday (Nov. 30).
