Steve Burrows, director of board development and executive outreach for the International Business Institute at UMSL, will discuss doing business in China Jan. 12.

As the global business world evolves and grows, learning key components to doing business overseas is essential.

Steve Burrows, director of board development and executive outreach for the International Business Institute at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, will discuss “Starting and Doing Business In China” at 8 a.m. Jan. 12 at the World Trade Center St. Louis, 121 South Meramec Ave. in Clayton, Mo.

Before becoming director at IBI, Burrows served as the chief executive and president of Anheuser-Busch International Inc. until retiring in November 2008 after a 30-year career at Anheuser-Busch,  15 years overseeing the company’s international development. He also served as vice chairman of the board of directors of Tsingtao Brewery Co. and on the board of directors of Harbin Brewery Group Ltd. Both companies are based in China.

The discussion is part of the monthly Breakfast & Business Series sponsored by The University of Missouri–St. Louis’ College of Business Administration.
