Developer Paul McKee Jr. has a vision for the rebirth of north St. Louis. And although at times his idea has been criticized and considered controversial, he’s continued toward his goal of redeveloping the area.
McKee, chairman of McEagle Properties, LLC, will discuss “NorthSide Regeneration” at 8 a.m. Feb. 2 in the Student Government Association Chamber in the Millennium Student Center at UMSL.
Mckee’s vision, the NorthSide Regeneration project, consists of rebuilding more than two square miles of north St. Louis near downtown. The project is an $8 billion, 23-year proposal that includes 10,000 new homes, along with parks, schools, churches and three major employment centers.
The discussion is part of the monthly Breakfast & Business Series sponsored by the University of Missouri–St. Louis’ College of Business Administration.
Breakfast and networking will begin at 7:30 a.m. The discussion will follow. The event is free and open to the public. The Millennium Student Center is on UMSL’s North Campus, 1 University Blvd. (63121).
