The film "The Ramen Girl" will be shown at 4:30 p.m. on March 13 in 331 Social Sciences & Business Building.

Enjoy a free movie, a meal and some Japanese culture at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Laura Miller, the Eiichi Shibusawa-Seigo Arai Professor of Japanese Studies at UMSL, will present the movie “The Ramen Girl” at 4:30 p.m. on March 13 in 331 Social Sciences & Business Building. The film features the late actress Brittany Murphy as an American girl who insists on learning how to create the perfect bowl of ramen soup from a cantankerous chef in Tokyo. Miller will give an introduction to the film.

The program is free and open to the public. Free pizza and soda will be provided.

The movie event is sponsored by the Ei’ichi Shibusawa-Seigo Arai Professorship in Japanese Studies at UMSL, International Studies and Programs at UMSL, and co-sponsored by UMSL Japan America Student Association.
