Vicki Sauter, professor of information system, discusses security on Facebook.

Information systems jobs in St. louis are on the rise, according to the career site Dice.com. And with rapid and continuous growth over the last two years, the demand for qualified information systems professionals is high.

Vicki Sauter, professor of information systems at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, was quoted March 16 in the St. Louis Business Journal discussing the high demand her students are in from local businesses.

“It’s great for me, because it’s my goal to find my students jobs,” she told the journal. “But if I were on the hiring end, I would be frustrated.”

Sauter added that the decline of dot-com companies over the last decade has taken its toll on the enrollment into information technology programs, creating the current demand for graduates.
