Two University of Missouri–St. Louis student-athletes hit their way to Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors.

Freshman Brianna Butler, the GLVC Softball Player of the Week, hit .591 last week, recording 13 hits in six contests, including two three-hit games. Her three doubles and two home runs for the week helped her earn nine RBIs and a 1.000 slugging percentage. She now has eight home runs and 37 RBIs for the year, which ranks her tied at seventh for best single season at UMSL in both categories.

Junior John Pilackas, the GLVC Baseball Player of the Week, helped the UMSL Tritons to their best week of the season, going 5-1 in league play with a mid-week sweep of Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) before taking three of four games at William Jewell College (Liberty, Mo.). Pilackas hit .333 and slugged .944. Five of his six hits went for extra bases including three home runs and two doubles good for five RBIs.
