Civil War re-enactor Chris Sutton will present "Civil War in Missouri: An Overview" May 10 at the St. Louis Mercantile Library at UMSL. The event is part of a Civil War series beginning at 7 p.m. each Thursday in May at the Mercantile.

Missouri’s pivotal role in the Civil War will be explored at 7 p.m. every Thursday in May at the St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Discussions will include:

• May 3: “The Civil War in Missouri: An Overview,” a lecture by Louis Gerteis, professor of history at UMSL
• May 10: “Civil War Missouri Comes to Life,” featuring Chris Sutton, Civil War re-enactor
• May 17: “Huckleberry Finn” book discussion
• May24: “Enemy Women” book discussion
• May 31: “Celia, A Slave” book discussion

Admission to a single session is $5. A pass to all five sessions is available for $20. Mercantile members can purchase a pass to all five sessions for $15.
