Lawmakers, government officials and the news media have discussed gun ownership policy in the wake of the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Richard Rosenfeld, Curators’ Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, discussed gun violence with journalist Ezra Klein Dec. 26 on “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC. He talked about the policies that could decrease gun violence.

He suggested implamenting “hot-spot policing” tactics and restricting assess to high-powered weapons.
