Two University of Missouri–St. Louis alumni are among the young professionals being honored in the St. Louis Business Journal’s 2013 “40 Under 40” class.

The annual list recognizes individuals in the St. Louis community who have made an impact in the business world before reaching the age of 40.

UMSL alumni honorees are:

Rebecca Boyer (BS accounting 1997)
T. Christopher Peoples (BS civil engineering 2008)

Boyer, 37, is chief financial officer and vice president of KellyMitchell, a St. Louis based information technology staffing firm. Before joining KellyMitchell in 2004, Boyer quickly moved from an accountant to CFO with the Jones Co. of Tennessee, LLC.

Peoples, 33, is the president of Pitzman’s Co. of Surveyors and Engineers. He joined the company while attending UMSL part-time in the engineering program. Since joining the Pitzman’s, he’s held every position in the company and in 2010 became president after purchasing a majority stake in the firm.

Visit the St. Louis Business Journal for a complete list of honorees. All 40 recipients were honored during a dinner Feb. 7 at the Renaissance Grand Hotel.
