Senior Shweta Galande (left) and freshman Tayler Hoag recently earned All-GLVC honors.

The University of Missouri–St. Louis women’s golf team posted its third straight top three finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship, finishing in second place at the league’s annual tournament, held on Saturday and Sunday at Annbriar Golf Club in Waterloo, Ill.

The UMSL Tritons shot a 625 with rounds of 308 and 317, trailing only team champion University of Indianapolis, which captured its seventh GLVC title with a 606 (301-305).

Freshman Tayler Hoag placed second individually to earn All-GLVC honors in her first collegiate season. Hoag carded a 148 with rounds of 72 and 76. UIndy’s Regan Prittard claimed medalist honors with a tournament record 145 (71-74).

Senior Shweta Galande also earned All-GLVC honors for her fifth place finish, earning the accolade for the fourth straight year. Galande carded a 155 (75-80).

Also for the Tritons, junior Gabriela Murcia tied for seventh place, shooting a 157 (78-79), while sophomore Bailey Hopper tied for 22nd place with a 165 (83-82). Junior Daniela Viotti rounded out the scoring with a 173 (83-90), tying for 40th place.

UMSL received a bid for its fourth straight NCAA Super Regional Tournament. The 2013 NCAA East Regional will take place May 5-7 at the Joliet Country Club in Romeoville, Ill.
