Women’s Soccer
The University of Missouri–St. Louis opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a pair of losses last weekend. The UMSL Tritons suffered a 1-0 defeat at Quincy on Friday as the host Hawks scored the game-winner in the final three minutes. UMSL then hosted Truman State on Sunday in the home opener, falling victim to the Bulldogs, 2-0.The Tritons close out their current three-game homestand this weekend, hosting Saint Joseph’s on Friday and Indianapolis on Sunday.
Men’s Soccer
The Tritons bounced back from a 2-1 loss at Quincy on Friday to record a 2-1 victory over Truman State on Sunday in the home opener. Sophomore Jon Huelsman had a goal in each contest for UMSL, while sophomore Nick Cherry scored the other Tritons goal on Sunday. UMSL returns to the field at home this weekend, hosting Saint Joseph’s on Friday and Indianapolis on Sunday.
Volleyball
The Tritons posted a 2-2 record at the North Alabama Tournament last weekend, defeating North Alabama (3-0) and Christian Brothers (3-2), while falling to Harding (3-1) and Northwood (3-1). Senior Chelsea Burkle paced the offense with 3.88 kills per set. UMSL will host Maryville on Tuesday night in its GLVC and home opener at 7 p.m. The Tritons then travel to McKendree and Illinois-Springfield on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Women’s Tennis
UMSL posted a 9-0 victory over Missouri Baptist last Thursday in its first dual match of the season. The Tritons will close out the fall portion of its schedule Sept. 27-29 at the ITA Regionals in Indianapolis, Ind.
Women’s Golf
UMSL shot an opening round of 317 on Sunday at the Screaming Eagle Invitational, hosted by Southern Indiana. On Sept. 16, the Tritons entered the final 18 holes in fifth place in the 13-team field.
Men’s Golf
UMSL began play at the Brickyard Crossing on Sept. 16 in Indianapolis and will conclude play on Sept. 17.
