UMSL Volleyball

The UMSL volleyball team opened conference play with three straight wins. The team is now 3-0 against GLVC opponents.

Women’s Soccer
The University of Missouri–St. Louis went 2-0 on the weekend, posting a pair of shutout victories in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The UMSL Tritons defeated Saint Joseph’s 2-0 on Friday night with goals from Jaylon Griffith and Jessica Mincher before picking up a 1-0 victory over Indianapolis on Sunday behind the game-winner from Hannah Kaloupek. The Tritons (4-2, 2-2 GLVC) return to the road this weekend, traveling to Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday and to Lewis on Sunday.

Men’s Soccer
UMSL recorded a 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s on Friday night with sophomore Nick Cherry heading in the game-winner. The Tritons then suffered a 4-0 loss to Indianapolis on Sunday. UMSL (3-3, 2-2 GLVC) returns to the road this weekend, traveling to Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday and to Lewis on Sunday.

Volleyball
UMSL began the GLVC slate with three wins, sweeping Maryville at home last Tuesday before garnering 3-1 road victories at McKendree and Illinois Springfield last Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Senior Chelsea Burkle led the Tritons with 4.27 kills and 2.91 digs per set. UMSL (7-4, 3-0 GLVC) returns home this weekend, hosting Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Lewis on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Men’s Tennis
The Tritons had a strong showing at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regionals last weekend, posting a combined 12-8 record in singles and doubles. Sophomore Tim McLarty advanced to the championship of the singles consolation bracket, while sophomore Nils Mueggenburg defeated the top-seed in singles play to reach the quarterfinals of the main draw. UMSL will close out the fall portion of its schedule on Wednesday, hosting NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois.

Women’s Golf
The Tritons sit in eighth place in the 17-team Indianapolis Fall Invitational field with the final 18 holes to play today. UMSL carded a 325 as a team on Sunday’s first round and are led by junior Bailey Hopper, who shot a 77 and is tied for 13th place. After this tournament, the Tritons return to the links this weekend, competing in theGlida’s Club Laker Fall Invite, hosted by Grand Valley State.

Men’s Golf
UMSL placed fourth in the 17-team field at the Brickyard Invitational, held last Monday and Tuesday. Sophomore Colby Yates earned runner-up honors individually.
