UMSL Women's Basketball

The UMSL women’s basketball team started off its 2013-2014 season with an exhibition win over Saint Louis University.

Women’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis opened its 2013-14 season on Saturday with 57-52 victory at NCAA Division I opponent Saint Louis in its lone exhibition game. Senior transfer Alyssa Like led the UMSL Tritons with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Devonna Smith had 11 points and nine rebounds. UMSL will officially tip-off its season on November 16, hosting Lindenwood at 5:30 p.m.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL opened its 2013-14 season with a 71-66 exhibition loss at NCAA Division I SIU Carbondale on Saturday night. The game was a late addition for the Tritons, who were added as an opponent yesterday after Harris-Stowe informed SIU that its team was not certified to play. Senior Femi John led the Tritons with 22 points and six rebounds, while junior Aareon Smith (14 points) and senior Michael Weber (12 points) also scored in double figures. UMSL will officially tip-off the regular season in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Saturday and Sunday as Lake Superior State hosts the GLVC-GLIAC Challenge. The Tritons face the host Lakers on Saturday before meeting Northwood on Sunday.

Volleyball
UMSL went 1-1 at home, defeating Saint Joseph’s, 3-1, on Saturday before stumbling to Indianapolis, 3-2, on Sunday. Senior Chelsea Burkle averaged 4.67 kills, 3.11 digs and 1.11 blocks per set. UMSL (14-12, 7-6 GLVC) begins a three-match road swing on Saturday at Bellarmine. The Tritons are also at Southern Indiana on Sunday.

Men’s Soccer
UMSL saw its season end on Sunday with a 3-0 loss at Rockhurst in quarterfinal round action of the GLVC Tournament. Earlier in the week, the Tritons defeated Maryville, 2-1, in the regular season finale. UMSL ends its season at 9-7-2, including an 8-5-2 mark in the GLVC.

Women’s Soccer
UMSL closed out its season last Wednesday with a 3-2 loss at Maryville. The Tritons finish at 4-11-2 overall, including 2-11-2 in the GLVC.

UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

Devin Livingstone and the men’s soccer team knocked off William Jewell and Truman State over the weekend to lock up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament berth since 2021.
