UMSL junior Aareon Smith led the men’s basketball team with 18.5 points per game as the Tritons started off the season 1-1.

Men’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis officially opened its 2013-14 season with a 1-1 record at the GLVC-GLIAC Challenge last weekend, hosted by Lake Superior State. The UMSL Tritons lost their opener, 76-72, to the host Lakers on Saturday before bouncing back for a 78-66 defeat of Northwood on Sunday. Junior Aareon Smith led UMSL with 18.5 points per game. The Tritons (1-1) will entertain Upper Iowa on Thursday in its home opener.

Volleyball
UMSL picked up a 3-0 road victory at Bellarmine on Saturday before suffering a 3-0 defeat at Southern Indiana on Sunday. The Tritons (15-13, 8-7 GLVC) travel across town to Maryville in the final regular season road contest of the year. UMSL then hosts Quincy on Friday and Truman State on Saturday to close out the regular season.
