For the second time this season, the University of Missouri–St. Louis softball team has swept the Great Lakes Valley Conference weekly awards. Junior Brianna Butler was named Player of the Week, while sophomore Hannah Perryman was named Pitcher of the Week.

Butler, an education major, earned her first weekly honor after hitting .375 last week with nine RBIs, six hits, including four homeruns and a double, six runs scored and four walks in 16 plate appearances. She posted a 1.188 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.

She began the week with three hits in a doubleheader sweep of non-conference foe Lindenwood last Wednesday, including two homeruns in the first inning of the nightcap.

Butler then tallied her third homerun of the week in game one at Bellarmine, which proved to be the game-winner and broke a 1-1 tie. She added a double in that contest, finishing with three RBIs.

Butler tied the program career mark for homeruns in the first of two games at Southern Indiana.

Perryman, a criminology and criminal justice major, posted a 4-0 record in 25.0 innings of work, recording a 0.56 ERA. She struck out 55 batters and limited opponents to a .119 batting average.

Against Lindenwood, Perryman struck out 13 hitters in a three-hit complete game and against Bellarmine, combined for 27 strike outs and allowed just three hits in the doubleheader. In game one, she pitched three innings in relief for eight strike outs, and in game two, she tossed 19 strike outs in a complete game eight-inning 2-0 victory.

Perryman completed the week with 15 strikeouts in a complete-game victory at Southern Indiana.

This is the fourth GLVC Pitcher of the Week honor for Perryman this season and the ninth in her career.

UMSL is 36-5 overall, including 21-3 in the GLVC, and closes out the regular season this week with six road games, beginning with a cross-town trip to Maryville today.
