Tim Lloyd, an education reporter for St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU, took home three 2014 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association. The awards recognized excellence in radio production for large-market stations in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri.
Lloyd’s first award came in the “Reporting: Sports” category for his story “Bosnian National Soccer Team Brings Community Together in St. Louis.”
His second award came in the “Use of Sound” category for his story “The Sequester Means St. Louis Gets an Extra Dose of Regional Air Force Band.”
Lloyd’s third award came in the “Writing” category for his story “St. Louis School Transfers Stir Up Controversy.”
Lloyd earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri–Columbia after growing up north of Kansas City, Mo. Before joining St. Louis Public Radio, he launched digital reporting efforts for Harvest Public Media, a Corporation for Public Broadcasting-funded collaboration between Midwestern NPR stations that focuses on agriculture and food issues. His stories have aired on a variety of stations and shows including “Morning Edition” and “Marketplace.”
