Four UMSL baseball players earned All-GLVC honors this year including (from left) Kyle Dermody, Cody Garlington, Paul Richmond and Zach Sedlacek.

Four players from the University of Missouri–St. Louis baseball team recently earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors including senior relief pitcher Kyle Dermody, senior designated hitter Cody Garlington, senior catcher Paul Richmond and junior starting pitcher Zach Sedlacek.

Dermody owned a team-best seven saves in 17 appearances on the mound and a 3.86 ERA.

Garlington has started 35 games this past season, batting .290. He has recorded 36 hits, including six doubles, and owned 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

Richmond started all 50 games this season behind the plate. He led the team with 51 hits and 26 runs scored and also had 18 RBIs while batting .300. Defensively, he led the Great Lakes Valley Conference the last two seasons in runners picked off and runners caught stealing. Richmond has picked off seven runners and thrown out 20 while trying to steal this season.

Sedlacek owned a 5-2 record. In 65.0 innings tossed, Sedlacek sported a 2.63 ERA and had recorded 53 strikeouts.

UMSL was 26-24 overall and finished with a 21-15 record in the GLVC to earn the No. 5 seed in the 2014 league tournament.
