Men’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis remains unbeaten on the season after picking up wins over Central Christian of the Bible and Concordia Seminary last week. The UMSL Tritons drained a program single-game record 18 three-pointers in the 102-44 win over Central Christian last Friday. All 12 Triton players scored, including junior Kevin Swanson, who led UMSL with 15 points. Redshirt freshman Andreas Kefalas led the Tritons with 16 points last Tuesday as the Tritons defeated Concordia Seminary, 111-52. The Tritons (6-0) return to the court Wednesday as they travel to St. Charles to play Lindenwood.
Women’s Basketball
UMSL fell to St. Louis University, 68-49, in an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon. Senior Alexis Lawrence led the offense with 12 points, while junior Kelly Kunkel followed with nine points and five rebounds. The Tritons (4-1) return to the court Saturday as they travel to St. Charles to play Lindenwood.
Men’s and Women’s Swimming
The Tritons competed in the Little Rock Christmas Invitational this past weekend, where they set multiple new school records and attained two NCAA B-cut marks. Freshman Matt Borges won the 400-meter individual medley in a new school record time of 4:04.14, which was also an NCAA B-cut, while freshman Felix Kusnierz won the 500-yard freestyle, posting an NCAA B-cut and new school record time of 4:34.12. The men brought home five individual titles and placed fourth out of six teams. On the women’s side, some of the school records set included: the 200-meter medley relay (2:21.86), Anastacia Chambers in the 200-meter freestyle, and Ellen Fix in the 100-meter backstroke. As a team, the women placed six out of the six competing teams. UMSL returns to the pool January 10 at the Washington University Invitational.
