St. Louis Public Radio’s Marquetta Anderson continued her winning ways, taking home a first place trophy at the Toastmasters district speech contest held on April 25. She had previously won the Triton Toastmasters Club contest and the area contest. With her seven-minute motivational speech, Anderson took the Toastmasters District 8, Division B International Speech Contest. The contest featured the five best motivational speakers from among the 24 Toastmasters Clubs in the Greater St. Louis area of Division B.

The win makes her eligible to compete at the district level, comprising eastern Missouri and western Illinois. A win at district will qualify her to compete in the prestigious “World Championship of Public Speaking” to be held this summer at the Toastmasters International Convention in Las Vegas.
