High school students from 14 different area schools spent last week living in the dorms at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, attending workshops and visiting area businesses as part of the annual Xtreme IT! summer academy.

The camp, which ran June 15 to 19, gave 26 participants the opportunity to learn about information technology. Throughout the week, participants toured and spent time at various St. Louis companies including Ameren, Boeing, Express Scripts and MasterCard.

Xtreme IT! was created in 2008 to introduce careers in information systems to a younger generation and is operated through the College of Business Administration.
