Men’s Golf earns GCAA Team Academic Award

UMSL received the award for the second straight year and is one of three teams from Great Lakes Valley Conference to garner the recognition in 2015.

The University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s golf team has been named a recipient of the 2015 Golf Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award.

The Tritons were one of 27 men’s golf programs in NCAA Division II to receive the award, while 169 programs in all levels of collegiate golf were honored.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year and the team’s combined GPA must be a 3.0 or better.

UMSL is one of three teams from Great Lakes Valley Conference to garner the recognition along with Bellarmine and Maryville. The Tritons are receiving the award for the second straight year.

UMSL posted a cumulative GPA of 3.209 during the 2014-15 academic year, while finishing tied for 12th at the NCAA DII Championships.
