Eye on UMSL: Blue

Under the watchful eye of the College of Optometry’s Carl Bassi, four UMSL students try out new “blue-blocker” eyewear inside the UMSL Patient Care Center on South Campus. Bassi, an associate professor and director of research, recently completed a study for JINS, a Japanese eyewear company, that looks at the effects of the lenses on eye comfort after working at a computer.

Pictured (right to left) are Taylor Dahms, Ben DeVilbiss, Bailey Peterson and Shannon Renner. Fellow student Blair Gerratt (not pictured) was also instrumental in the success of the study.

This photograph was taken by UMSL photographer August Jennewein and is the latest to be featured in Eye on UMSL.
