UMSL Tritons weekly rewind

Senior forward Hunter Reine notched his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds in the men’s basketball team’s victory over Trevecca Nazarene last week. The Tritons also picked up a road win at Maryville to improve to 7-4 on the season.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL went 2-0 last week, defeating Trevecca Nazarene 78-65 at home on Thursday in nonconference play and earning a 66-62 road victory Saturday at Maryville in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Junior Elijah Watson averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals while senior Hunter Reine averaged 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. UMSL (7-4, 2-1 GLVC) returns to action next Monday when they make the return trip to Trevecca Nazarene.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL lost a 62-58 decision to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday. The Tritons were led by junior Jordan Fletcher’s game-high 23 points, six rebounds and a career-high four blocks. UMSL also played a pair of exhibition games against NCAA Division I opponents – at UMKC and at SIUE. UMSL (4-4, 1-1 GLVC) is idle this week for final exams but will travel next Monday to Truman State for a nonconference contest.
