Junior guard Johnathan Matthews tied a season high with 18 points in the men’s basketball team’s overtime loss at Southern Indiana.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL fell short at No. 20 Southern Indiana, losing 70-65 last Thursday in its lone game of the week. The Screaming Eagles closed the game on a 12-3 run. Senior Jordan Fletcher scored 17 points in the loss while senior Shawnta Johnson added 15 points and six assists. The Tritons (7-4, 1-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference) will play at Illinois Springfield on Thursday before returning home on Saturday to host McKendree.

Men’s Basketball
Southern Indiana outscored UMSL 11-0 in overtime last Thursday as the Tritons dropped an 84-73 decision on the road in their lone contest of the week. Junior Johnathan Matthews tied a season high with 18 points while junior Eric Dust notched his first double-double with 11 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. UMSL (7-6, 2-2) is at Illinois Springfield on Thursday before returning home on Saturday to host McKendree.
