Volleyball
UMSL continued its hot start, improving to 12-0 with four wins at the Union University Classic last weekend in Jackson, Tennessee. Seniors Selena Nolte and Kylie Rudsinski were both named to the all-tournament team. Nolte averaged 5.00 kills per set and moved into second place on the Tritons career kills list with 1,208. Rudsinski, meanwhile, averaged 3.14 kills per set and recorded her 1,000th career kill, becoming the ninth player in program history to achieve that feat. UMSL begins Great Lakes Valley Conference play on the road this weekend, traveling to Drury and Southwest Baptist on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Men’s Soccer
The Tritons suffered a pair of shutouts in their home-opening weekend, falling 2-0 against Lewis Friday night and 1-0 against Illinois Springfield on Sunday. UMSL (2-4, 0-3 GLVC) plays at McKendree on Friday before traveling to Southern Indiana on Sunday.
Women’s Soccer
UMSL lost a pair of one-goal decisions last weekend, falling 2-1 to both Lewis and Illinois Springfield. Junior Emily Hanewinkel and sophomore Mia Milazzo both scored for the Tritons. Junior Amber Hayes made a season-high 11 saves in Sunday’s loss to UIS. The Tritons visit McKendree on Friday before traveling to Southern Indiana on Sunday.
Women’s Tennis
Senior Marina Prediger advanced to the quarterfinals of the A Singles flight at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament. Prediger and junior Leticia Lunge also advanced to the quarterfinals of the A Doubles. UMSL was 3-0 in the Round of 64 in the A Singles with freshman Hannah Burth and sophomore Odette Beagrie also winning their first round matches before falling in the Round of 32.
