Senior midfielder Magnus Andersen netted four goals on the weekend, including the lone tally in an upset victory over No. 2 Maryville on Friday.

Men’s Soccer
Senior Magnus Andersen scored the lone goal in the 60th minute Friday night as UMSL upset previously unbeaten and second-ranked Maryville at the Lou Fusz Soccer Complex. It was the start of a big weekend for Andersen individually as the Danish midfielder scored three more goals Sunday in a 4-3 double-overtime loss to Missouri S&T. He now has seven goals this season. The Tritons (3-9, 1-8 Great Lakes Valley Conference) open a four-game homestand on Friday against William Jewell before welcoming Rockhurst on Sunday.

Women’s Soccer
The Tritons lost a pair of one-goal games last weekend, falling to Maryville (1-0) and Missouri S&T (1-0 in overtime). UMSL (1-10, 1-8 GLVC) plays host to William Jewell and Rockhurst on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Volleyball
UMSL went 3-0 last week with road wins at Lindenwood (3-0) and Southern Indiana (3-1) before a home victory over McKendree (3-0). Junior Kaileen Herman averaged 11.00 assists, 3.20 digs and 1.40 kills per set, while sophomore Megan Woll averaged 5.80 digs per set. The Tritons (17-2, 5-2 GLVC) are at the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament this weekend where they will face Trevecca Nazarene, Ferris State and Northern Michigan.

Men’s Golf
The Tritons took third place at their own Midwest Regional at Fox Run last Monday and Tuesday, shooting a combined score of 894 (308-289-297) to finish five strokes behind team champion McKendree and three behind runner-up Maryville in the 17-team field. Senior Chris Ferrisplaced sixth individually with a total of 216 (76-70-70), posting his second straight top-10 finish. UMSL is at the NCAA Preview today and Tuesday at the Country Club of St. Albans.

Women’s Golf
Senior Emma Thorngren recorded her third straight top-five finish, tying for fourth at the William Beall Fall Classic, hosted by Findlay last Monday and Tuesday in Ohio. Thorngren carded a 223 with rounds of 78, 72 and 74 and finished seven strokes behind the medalist. As a team, the Tritons finished sixth on the scoreboard in the 17-team field, shooting a combined score of 943 (323-309-311). The Tritons are at the NCAA Preview today and Tuesday at the Country Club of St. Albans.
