Junior guard Jose Grubbs poured in a career-high 28 points last Tuesday in a victory over Ohio Dominican, the first of two Tritons wins in the UMSL Thanksgiving Classic.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL defeated Ohio Dominican 70-64 and Lincoln 76-59 last week during its UMSL Thanksgiving Classic before coming up short to NCAA Division I Indiana State in a 62-55 exhibition loss over the weekend. Junior Jose Grubbs averaged 20 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Tritons’ two victories. That included a career-high 28 points in the win over Ohio Dominican. UMSL (6-1) welcomes new league member Lindenwood on Tuesday night in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener before playing host to Missouri Baptist on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball
The Tritons went 1-1 in its Thanksgiving Classic, defeating Lincoln 79-61 to bounce back from a 62-58 loss to Newman. Junior Alex LaPorta filled out the stat sheet by averaging 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while freshman Breanna Diestelkamp averaged 12.5 points, shooting 71.4 percent from the field. UMSL (3-3) plays host to new conference member Lindenwood on Tuesday night in the GLVC opener.
