Eye on UMSL: In-person learning

Ryan Krull spoke to students in his Introduction to News Writing course about producing video packages to accompany print news stories they had writing during a class earlier this month in the Social Sciences and Business Building. He talked specifically about elements of stories that lend themselves to being conveyed visually as well as how to shoot and edit video using a smartphone and Adobe Spark software. Krull, an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, has been teaching in-person classes – wearing masks and socially distanced – one day each week.

This photograph was taken by UMSL photographer August Jennewein and is the latest to be featured in Eye on UMSL.
