Herman T. Pott National Inland Waterways Library Curator Sara Hodge adjusts the lighting during the leadup to an exhibition celebrating the library’s 175th anniversary with 25 years at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The show, “A Nation, A City, & Its First Library: Americana as a Way of Life at the St. Louis Mercantile Library for 175 Years,” opens on Friday. Per UMSL COVID-19 guidelines, walk-in visitors are limited to 10 people per group. Small group tours are available by appointment only, with a four-person limit.
