Progress continues on the new Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center, which is part of the Transform UMSL initiative.

Work crews have started installing glass on the future Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center on the University of Missouri–St. Louis campus. The new 31,000-square-foot center will connect to the J.C. Penney Building facing Alumni Circle.

The university has raised $9.6 million toward its $11.6 million goal for the project. That includes a lead gift from the late Kirk Richter and his wife Maureen Richter as well as contributions from other alumni. The groundbreaking for the dual-purpose facility – it will serve as a welcome center for prospective students and as a home for the university’s more than 100,000 alumni – took place in June 2023.
