The St. Louis Business Journal carried news of UMSL naming its College of Business Administration after an alum and donor. The Ed G. Smith College of Business is the first named college in UMSL’s history. The naming was affirmed by the University of Missouri Board of Curators on June 26. Smith, who has led American Direct Marketing Resources since founding it in 1983, has grown the company to a full-service direct response advertising agency serving clients in consumer marketing and customer acquisition.
Multiple outlets, including the Echo-Pilot, Shippensburg News-Chronicle and U.S. Army, featured Jim Beecher’s appointment as the new commander of the Letterkenny Munitions Center. Beecher is a business alum with a strong background in leadership and logistics. He earned an MBA and a graduate certificate in logistics and supply chain management from UMSL and previously served as executive officer for the director of Lead Materiel Integration, Army Sustainment Command Support Operations, at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.
