Michael Seals delivers a lightning talk to fellow alums of the Doctor of Business Administration Program at the University of Missouri–St. Louis on April 3 in the UMSL Innovation Center during an Alumni Weekend for graduates of the DBA program. As part of a session titled “Spotlight on Scholar-Practitioners,” Seals, a member of the National Board of Directors for the Society of Information Management, joined four other alums in delivering fast-paced 7-minute stories about how they’ve applied their dissertation findings, led change or translated data into decisions since completing their DBAs at UMSL.
It was just one event during two days of activities meant to welcome back alumni from the DBA program and give them a chance to reconnect, share ideas and explore future research opportunities as they continue translating the lessons they learned at UMSL into real-world impact.
UMSL’s DBA program counts more than 60 graduates since welcoming its first cohort in December 2017. The three-year program is designed to train engaged management scholars in a learning community supported by select internationally renowned faculty with close ties to business and recognized for their research impact and expertise in graduate education. Under the leadership of Founding Director Ekin Pellegrini, the program has consistently been recognized as a premier global DBA program by CEO Magazine.
