Men’s and Women’s Swimming
The University of Missouri–St. Louis men’s and women’s swimming teams won 19 of 22 events at their annual Winter Triangular against Maryville and Quincy on Saturday afternoon at the Mark Twain Athletic Center. The women’s team won all 11 events with Kate Nelson, Audrey Lantz and Kelsey Roth each winning two individually – Nelson in the 100-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle, Lantz in the 500 freestyle and the 50 freestyle and Roth in the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke. Nelson and Roth also helped the Tritons win the 400 medley relay while Roth was part of the winning quartet in the 200 freestyle relay. Other event winners for the UMSL women’s team were Mackenzie Greeley in the 200 butterfly, Zara Konstapel in the 200 breaststroke and Rebecca Bechtel in the 1,000 freestyle. The men’s team won eight events, including two each by Conley Savage and David Reynolds. Savage took first in the 100 individual medley and the 200 butterfly while also swimming the third leg of the winning 400 medley relay team. Reynolds swam the anchor leg in that race and also won the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Jaxson Mahlstadt won the 200 freestyle, Guillem Masjuan Roca took first in the 200 backstroke and Dylan Bonnett won the 200 breaststroke. UMSL will compete in its final meet of the semester at noon Friday in Rolla, Missouri. The men will take part in a triangular against host Missouri S&T and Rockhurst while the women will swim in a dual meet against the Hawks.

Men’s Basketball
The Tritons got back to the .500 mark this season after road victories at Great Lakes Valley Conference foes Quincy (75-66) on Thursday and Illinois Springfield (87-81) on Saturday. It marked the first time they’ve won back-to-back games this season. Sophomore Matt Enright led five players in double figures against the Hawks, finishing with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and also snaring eight rebounds, handing out five assists and coming up with three steals. Troy Glover II added 15 points and 15 rebounds. Mayson Quartlebaum and Savon Wykle had 13 points apiece, and Terrell Kabala added 10. The Prairie Stars gave UMSL a tougher fight despite allowing the Tritons to shoot 60% from the field. Emanuel Prospere II scored 21 points off the bench, and Enright added 19 points. Quartlebaum finished with 16 points and a team-best six rebounds, and Wykle had 12 points. UMSL (5-5, 3-1 GLVC) is idle until Dec. 18, when it opens the High Desert Classic against Central Missouri in Las Vegas. The Tritons are also scheduled to meet Central Oklahoma in the two-day tournament being played at Desert Oasis High School.

Women’s Basketball
UMSL snapped a two-game losing streak with a 62-44 victory at Quincy on Thursday and followed it with 78-60 road victory at Illinois Springfield on Saturday. Morgan Ramthun‘s hot shooting propelled the Tritons to the first victory. She shot 8 for 10 from the field on her way to 19 points and added five rebounds in the win over the Hawks. Jalysa Stokes added 14 points, and Amaya Blake added 11. Stokes paced UMSL in the victory over the the Prairie Stars, finishing with 24 points while grabbing four rebounds. Ramthun added 13 points and 13 rebounds as the Tritons overcame 3-for-17 shooting in the first quarter. Audrey Martinez-Stewart finished with 12 points. UMSL (6-3, 4-2 GLVC) will visit Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.

Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field
The Tritons track teams competed at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan First Chance Meet on Saturday at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Makayla Brown finished in the top 10 in three events, taking sixth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1 minute, 56.89 seconds, was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 13 feet, 4 inches and also placed seventh in the trip jump with a mark of 31 feet, 3.25 inches. Luke Hall was the top performer on the men’s side, winning the 600 meters in a time of 1:29.52. Both track teams will next compete on Jan. 13 at Eastern Illinois’ John Craft Invitational.
