Chancellor Kristin Sobolik welcomed a group of nearly 40 leaders from Bayer to the University of Missouri–St. Louis campus on Monday afternoon. The group gathered in Anheuser-Busch Hall Room 103 for the first day of a weeklong training facilitated by Dean Jordi Diaz and colleagues at the EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain.

Dean Shu Schiller from the Ed G. Smith College of Business spearheaded collaborative efforts to bring the group to the UMSL campus.

“This is an exciting time for our partnership with Bayer and EADA School of Business,” Schiller said. “We are happy to support the participants so they can have an extraordinary experience. The Ed G. Smith College of Business looks forward to creating new opportunities for collaboration with Bayer and EADA to advance our missions.”

College of Business faculty members Cindy Goodwin-Sak and Scott Morris will lead case discussions with the group on Wednesday, during with they will share their own stories of sustainable innovation and the practical tools they use to accomplish their objectives. Each participant will leave with a guide and a small list of tools to help them capture their value levers, thesis, assumptions, leading and lagging indicators, operating norms, and a sprint plan that they can immediately take and apply in their own projects.
