UMSL women’s golfers (from left) junior Shweta Galande, sophomore Daniela Vila and junior Samantha Pelc wrapped up their final fall tournament this week.

One day after carding a school record 297, the University of Missouri–St. Louis women’s golf team set another school mark with a 296 on its final 18 holes en route to a team score of 593 to win the team title at its own Tritons Invitational at the Gateway Golf Links.

UMSL, competing in its final tournament of the fall season, paced the field of 13, finishing nine strokes ahead of runner-up William Woods University (Fulton, Mo.) (602).

Individually, the Tritons were led by junior Shweta Galande, who earned a runner-up finish with a score of 143 (70-73). Galande finished one stroke behind medalist Kayla Ecklekamp of Maryville University (Town and Country, Mo.) shot a 142 (69-73).

Also for UMSL, freshman Bailey Hopper placed third with a 146 (73-73), while senior Lindsay Kellerman tied for fourth place with a 149 (75-74). Kellerman’s score also included a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.

Rounding out the Tritons’ scoring was sophomore Daniela Viotti, who fired a 155 (79-76) for a 16th place tie and junior Chelsea Kellogg who tied for 42nd place with a 164 (83-81).

Junior Samantha Pelc competed as an individual, tying for 37th place with a 163 (83-80).
