The Arianna String Quartet, the resident quartet at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, will conclude its 2009-10 season with “Triple Crown.” The concert will begin at 8 p.m. April 9 in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. Tickets are $18 to $20.
The quartet will devote the concert to a trio of works that represent the crowning achievements by three of classical music’s greatest composers: Quartet in Eb Major, K. 428 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Quartet No. 4 by Bela Bartok and Piano Quintet by Robert Schumann. The quintet will feature guest pianist Chiharu Iinuma.
