Irish author Geraldine Mills tackles dark themes in her writings, from mother-daughter jealousy to infidelity, alienation and death. She’ll read from her short stories and poetry from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on March 8 at 331 Social Sciences and Business Building at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The reading is free and open to the public.

Mills’ collection of poetry books includes “Unearthing your Own” (2001) and “Toil the Dark Harvest” (2004). She’s also authored two short stories: “Lick of the Lizard” (2005) and “The Weight of Feathers” (2007).

Mills, who is from Galway, Ireland, is a regular contributor to Irish National Radio.
