The University of Missouri–St. Louis continued its hot streak at this year’s St. Louis ADDY Awards, the local round in the world’s largest and toughest advertising competition.
“This was UMSL’s most successful year at the ADDYs,” said Kristy Tucciarone, assistant teaching professor of media studies at UMSL.
Students Nick Silva and Terrell Davis led the way, each earning an ADDY Award in the television single category. Silva was also awarded two certificates of excellence. Seven additional UMSL students received certificates of excellence as well.
This is the fifth year UMSL advertising students have taken part in the competition. In all, they’ve racked up a total of five local ADDYs, 25 local certificates of excellence and one student silver ADDY at the district level.
The awards recognize creative excellence in several advertising areas, including sales promotion, direct marking, radio, television and mixed media. The competition is held at three levels: local, regional/district and national.
“I can’t wait for the district competition, as more honors may be on the horizon,” Tucciarone said. “I am honored to be the teacher of such awesome students and excited to see their future ad work.”
