Rajiv Sabherwal, Curators’ Professor of Information Systems at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, received the Gateway to Innovation National Impact Award, presented by Scottrade, Inc.
The award, which is presented to those who have positively represented the St. Louis IT Community at the national and international level, was given April 20 during the Gateway to Innovation Conference attended by more than 600 senior IT professionals.
The event was hosted by the IT Coalition, Society for Information Management, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and Missouri Enterprise Technology Association.
Sabherwal, of Creve Coeur, Mo., was the Fulbright Research Chair at Queen’s School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, Canada last fall. He was inducted as a Fellow of the Association of Information Systems in 2008 and serves as editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management Journal. He also has served on the editorial boards of Management Science, Information Systems Research and Journal of the Association for Information Systems.
“I am honored and delighted to have received this prestigious award, especially as it is based on evaluation by chief information officers at leading companies,” he said. “I am grateful to my colleagues, collaborators and students, who have enabled me to make contributions that are considered to have had significant and broad impacts.”
Sabherwal’s research focuses on knowledge management, business intelligence, information systems strategy and success, and social aspects of systems development. He has been published in journals such as Management Science, Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly. He has co-authored textbooks on business intelligence and knowledge management.
