University of Missouri–St. Louis head women’s basketball coach Lisa Curliss-Taylor has announced the signing of Shayelle Dominguez to a national letter of intent to join the Tritons program beginning with the 2010-11 academic year. Dominguez joins Kaitlin Sweatman who signed with the program in November and Hana Haden, Phoebe Robertson and Normeka Holder who signed with the program this spring.

Dominguez, a 6-foot-2-inch forward, comes to UMSL from Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Ill., where she averaged 9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1 steal per game.

Dominguez prepped at Southwestern High School in Piasa, Ill.

“Shayelle will provide us with a strong body in the low post,” Curliss-Taylor said. “She is also an excellent student and we are pleased to add her to our program.”
