St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU announced the addition of year-round classical music as part of the Saturday evening program schedule on the station’s main channel, 90.7 KWMU. The schedule changes, listed below, will take effect July 31.

* “From the Top,” a classical music variety show, will air from 7 to 8 p.m. on 90.7 KMWU. Hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O’Riley, the program features high-caliber performances along with interviews, sketches and games, revealing the heart and soul behind extraordinary young musicians. Over the years, some of the most prominent figures in classical music have appeared alongside young talent including Yo-Yo Ma, Hilary Hahn, Bobby McFerrin, Midori and Béla Fleck. “From the Top” is distributed by NPR. * “SymphonyCast,” a two-hour weekly radio program featuring full-length concerts of national and international symphony orchestras, will air on 90.7 KWMU from 8 to 10 p.m. 29 weeks out of the year. The remaining 23 weeks will feature live broadcasts of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Wells Fargo Advisors Orchestral Series concerts beginning Sept. 18. Hosted by Brian Newhouse, the program features concerts from Europe’s leading ensembles, along with U.S. orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra. “SymphonyCast” is distributed by American Public Media. * “American Routes” will now air from 10 p.m. to midnight on 90.7 KWMU. “World Café” will move to St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU-2 and will air from 7 to 9 p.m. “Hearts of Space” will no longer air on St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU, but fans of the show can listen to the program online at http://www.hos.com/.
