Derek Shouse, junior on the UMSL men’s basketball team, drained the game-winning three-pointer with 1.9 seconds to play against UIS.

Women’s Basketball
The University of Missouri–St. Louis (10-1, 3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) picked up another pair of GLVC wins last weekend, while extending its win streak to nine games. The UMSL Tritons fended off McKendree on Friday night for a 69-63 win before battling for a 73-68 win at Illinois Springfield on Sunday. Senior Devonna Smith averaged 16.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game, while senior Hazaria Washington posted a career-best 25 points at UIS and averaged 19.0 points per game in the two outings. The Tritons return home this weekend, hosting Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday and Lewis on Saturday.

Men’s Basketball
UMSL (9-2, 3-0 GLVC) extended its win streak to seven games, while staying perfect in the GLVC with wins at McKendree (105-78) on Friday and at Illinois Springfield (69-67) on Sunday. Junior Derek Shouse drained the game-winning three-pointer with 1.9 seconds to play at UIS before finishing with a career-best 14 points. Senior Femi John averaged 16.5 points in the two outings to pace the offense. The Tritons are back in action this Thursday and Saturday, hosting Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis, respectively, in GLVC action.
