There’s the ACT, SAT, FAFSA, SAR, scholarships, loans, grants and much more. The college admissions process can be confusing for everyone involved. The University of Missouri-St. Louis has set aside a special day to explain the admissions process to students and their families on March 6.

“UMSL Day gives students the opportunity to experience our campus firsthand and get all of their basic questions answered,” said Alan Byrd, director of admissions. “It provides a snapshot of our campus environment and allows students to start developing relationships with faculty in their areas of interest.”

The program is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Century Rooms at the Millennium Student Center on UMSL’s North Campus. It includes informational sessions with deans and faculty and programs on financial aid and residential life. There will be a session on “what parents need to know” and personalized campus tours focusing on student interests. Current UMSL students will be on hand to talk about their own college experience. Representatives from student organizations also will be available along with music, snacks and refreshments.
