Research & Innovation at UMSLThe University of Missouri–St. Louis has lined up an eclectic group of speakers for its Research & Innovation Week, which runs April 21-25.

In a little more than two decades Schlafly beer has gone from a brewpub near downtown St. Louis to selling beer in 15 states. Thomas Schlafly, co-founder of the Saint Louis Brewery, maker of Schlafly beer, will share his entrepreneurial success story April 23 from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from Tim Noonan, vice president of Boeing Ventures, part of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, who will share his insights on creating a culture of entrepreneurship across Boeing and why it’s vital to the company’s future. His session will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 22.

Additional sessions throughout the week include:

  • April 22, 3:30 p.m. – “Alternate Careers: Think Outside the Lab”
  • April 23, 3 p.m. – “The Double Life of Academic Entrepreneurs”
  • April 24, 11:30 a.m. – “Megatrends in the Health Care Marketplace”
  • April 25, 12:30 p.m. ­– “The Affordable Care Act: A Policy Perspective”

All sessions will be held in the Student Government Association Chamber at the Millennium Student Center on UMSL’s North Campus.  The sessions are free and open to the public, however registration is required. Click here to register online.

Research and Innovation Week is hosted by the Office of Research Administration at UMSL and is intended to highlight research and innovation on campus and in the St. Louis region.
