The University of Missouri–St. Louis expects total enrollment this fall to top 16,875 students – a new campus record. The previous record – set in fall 2011 and matched again in fall 2013 – was 16,809.
On-campus-only enrollment was 9,376 undergraduate students [up 1 percent] and 2,802 graduate/professional students [up 2.6 percent]. UMSL enrolls a significant number of off-campus students – including dual credit students in area high schools – who will be included in UMSL’s total enrollment report when tallies become official Oct. 1.
On-campus-only credit hours are 122,130 [up 1.4 percent] – slightly higher than on-campus headcount. Other highlights include 540 first-time, full-time freshmen [7 percent increase] and a 6 percent increase in the number of students living in UMSL-owned housing.
UMSL enrollment by the numbers:
• On-campus enrollment: 12,178 compared to 12,015
• On-campus credit hours: 122,130 compared to 121,379
• First-time freshmen: 541 compared to 506
