What is the future of banking? With the government bailout lingering and foreclosures steadily growing, what’s next for this fragile industry? UMSL alumnus Joseph A. Stieven will discuss the “Banking Industry Outlook – Truth, Lies and Consequences” at 8 a.m. Feb. 3 at Edward Jones as part of the monthly Breakfast and Business Series co-sponsored by the College of Business Administration at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Stieven is the founder and chief executive officer of Stieven Capital Advisors, L.P. SCA is a registered investment advisor focusing on financial institutions.  Before founding SCA, he served as senior vice president and director of the financial institution’s research group at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from UMSL.

The lecture is part of the College of Business Administration’s Breakfast & Business Series and co-sponsored by Express Scripts, Inc.
