Junior pitcher Carly Kingery helped the UMSL softball team stretch its winning streak to six games with a pair of victories last week in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. She posted a 0.50 earned run average in starts against Truman State and Quincy and struck out 12 in 14 innings of work.

Softball
UMSL swept its home doubleheaders against Truman State and Quincy last weekend, running its win streak to a Great Lakes Valley Conference-best six games. Junior Carly Kingery went 2-0 in the circle behind a 0.50 ERA and struck out 12 in 14 innings of work for the Tritons. Offensively, she added four hits. Senior Jennah Perryman had a hit in each game and also recorded five RBI. UMSL (22-14, 9-5 GLVC) travels west to Rockhurst and William Jewell on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Baseball
The Tritons took three of four games from William Jewell last weekend in a GLVC series. Junior Tom DeCero recorded eight hits, including a walk-off single on Friday to help UMSL to a 9-8 win in extra innings. Seniors Kevin Smith and Jim Brandt each pitched a complete game in Saturday’s doubleheader sweep. The Tritons (13-14, 5-3 GLVC) welcome Quincy in a four-game series on Saturday and Sunday.

Women’s Tennis
No. 35 UMSL lost a 5-1 decision to 14th-ranked Drury on Saturday in its first GLVC match. The Tritons scored their point at No. 2 doubles, where graduate student Kristine Lindal and junior Salome Bleuler won 8-4. UMSL (7-4) will play three matches this week, including a home contest against Maryville on Thursday and road matches at Truman State (Friday) and Quincy (Saturday).

Men’s Tennis
The Tritons suffered a 5-1 defeat to No. 18 Drury on Saturday in their GLVC opener. Junior Rob White and sophomore Milan Kovacs won at No. 3 doubles, 9-8. UMSL (6-3, 0-1 GLVC) will play host host to Maryville Thursday before traveling to Truman State and Quincy on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
