TheBestSchools.org ranked UMSL No. 14 on its list of the 25 best online bachelor’s in political science degree programs.

Students can gain those lessons whether they’re learning on campus or online.

The ratings website TheBestSchools.org ranked UMSL No. 14 nationally on its list of the 25 best online bachelor’s in political science degree programs.

The website formulates its rankings after weighing a school’s curriculum, strength of faculty scholarship, reputation, range of school-sponsored financial aid, variety of degree programs and strength of online instruction methodology.

UMSL trailed only Washington University in St. Louis among schools in Missouri. Its online bachelor’s program drew high marks for the way it develops a foundation of knowledge and skills among its students in areas such as American politics, comparative politics, international relations, political theory and public policy and administration.

“Our faculty provide a learning community for our students, even in an online environment,” said Dave Robertson, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science. “Students and faculty work together to nurture thoughtful, fair-minded, knowledgeable and inventive problem-solvers – the kinds of people that governments, nonprofit service agencies and businesses need today.”
